Original format creation is a key area of expansion for the company having submitted winning formats in both the inaugural & 2013 RTE Format Farm Competition signing distribution deals with Fremantle Media and Nordic World and beating some of Europes top indies to take the top prize in the 2013 Nordic Format Search in Copenhagen. Waka TV was launched in 2007 by Warren Meyler and Katherine Lynch and just six months later they had a massive comedy success on their hands, with the six part mockumentary series Working Girls, pulling in an average audience share of a massive 30%.
