Sit smarter with the triple award-winning S1! Sven von Boetticher has translated the classic work chair into the present with the S1 swivel chair for Wagner Living. This outstanding, moving design has won three awards! All good things come in threes: therefore, together with Sven von Boetticher, we are not only pleased about the German Design Award... 2022, but also about the iF Design Award 2022 and the reddot winner 2022! For the first time, the back-friendly movement of the seat surface emerges from the geometry and the material. Sven von Boetticher has now masterfully translated the classic swivel chair into the present with the S1 for Wagner Living. The reduced form does not reveal the highly developed technology behind it at first glance, as it literally carries the function within itself: The Dondola joint, for which Wagner has applied for a patent, is concealed here with a completely new design and requires no support. Instead, two plastic outriggers take over the suspension and the restoring force. The balance of maximum seating comfort and sufficient surface area also includes the fact that the shape of the backrest is slightly curved to provide ideal support for many different body types. How work affects life, thematised by the students of the Angewandte, Vienna in an exhibition curated by Matylda Krzykowski and the MAKK Cologne. The exhibition "Workspace in progress" offers a glimpse into the future of design in the New Work. Until 31 October 2021, the MAKK Museum für Angewandte Kunst in Cologne is showing a worthwhile selection of prototypes that can help shape the new world of work.
