Voedsel Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd is a Zimbabwean wholly indigenous company. The company made its inroads into tobacco merchanting in 2008. It is licensed with The Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board (TIMB) as a Class A buyer, and the license permit the company to buy tobacco in Zimbabwe for export. Since 2008 the company has been buying tobacco on th... e auction floors on behalf of other tobacco merchants. The company is involved in tobacco contracting, processing and exporting. In 2019, Voedsel purchased approximately 5% of the total Zimbabwe Flue-Cured tobacco crop over all the sales floors. Within the annual purchases there is a wide range of different styles, from lower stalk positions to full-bodied leaf, enabling us to supply our valued customers with all their FCV requirements. We also supply Cut Rag tobacco. Direct contract growing was established in 2015 to enhance and ensure continued and reliable production of the Zimbabwean tobacco crop. This increase in national production is attributable to contract growing. Voedsel has a license to purchase Flue-Cured Virginia (FCV) directly from the farmer. Voedsel has been and remains a well-established and influential player in this field. All contracted growers receive various levels of support ranging from finance, fuel, coal, chemicals and extensive agronomy assistance.
