Vision Associates was founded in 1993 to provide optical dispensary management and consulting expertise to busy ophthalmic practices. The need for such services had become increasingly evident, as practices were realizing that maximizing optical dispensary profits required far more than simply hiring an optician and displaying eyeglass frames. In 2002, Vision Associates' optical laboratory facility was acquired by Essilor Labs of America, the nation's leading lens manufacturer. This relationship enabled Vision Associates to benefit from Essilor's lens expertise and high-tech manufacturing processes, allowing Vision Associates to focus solely on managing its clients' dispensaries. Shortly thereafter, Vision Associates computerized its entire operation, streamlining efficiencies and enhancing its own productivity to better help its customers optimize theirs.
