Our custom millwork studio allows us to offer our clients many custom architectural millwork services from project conception to completion, from traditional to contemporary or customized to match an existing piece for new construction, renovation & historic restoration. Before the summer we will inspect the property and schedule any necessary repairs, open the home and manage everything from pool set up to cleaning services. At the end of the season we will close your property and get it ready for winter. During the off season we will conduct regular checks on the property and inspect after heavy winds and storms. Today, the Edgartown-based company is in its second generation, with Bobs son, Derek, joining his father to maintain the family tradition of constructing finely crafted custom homes. Bob and his wife Gail came to the Island for the summer of 1973. Like so many others who visit and fall in love with the natural beauty and rich history of the Vineyard, the Avakians stayed and created a home for themselves and their two sons, Derek and Alex. Derek tagged along with his father to construction sites from the time he was a young boy. During high school and college, he spent summers as a laborer, gradually developing the skills to become an excellent carpenter.
