Villa Maria

Set in the middle of 3,000 acres of private gardens and parkland - perched above Lake Pepin in Historic Old Frontenac, Minnesota - the Preserve is truly beyond compare. Villa Maria Academy was opened in the 1890s as a girls school by the Ursuline Sisters of the Central Province, a group of Catholic nuns based in St. Louis & New Orleans. Villa Maria... (formally known as Marian Hall) was built in 1946 by the Sisters in the style of historic French Country Chateaus and Villas. Villa Maria, Woodhaven Lodge, and Ursuline Hall are now available for weddings and other events . In 2021 lodging rooms & suites will open in the Villa, along with cottages on the grounds. Celebrate your special occasion at the historic Villa Maria. Villa Maria has a variety of event areas, both indoor and outdoor. Catering is handled on-site, and it is currently managed by the University Club of Saint Paul . The University Club has played host to weddings and other special events for over 30 years. Lodging will be available at Villa Maria in 2021. More specific information will be added as it becomes available. Applications for monthly rental of fully furnished studio apartments and suites will be accepted beginning October 1st, 2020. Hotel bookings will be available in late spring 2021. Villa Maria is surrounded by the expansive Frontenac State Park and is only steps from Lake Pepin. The expansive grounds and spacious and safe, fully-serviced work spaces will open to members of the University Club of St. Paul beginning Spring of 2021.
