A successful school would not run without a great team, which... I am pleased to say Victoria Road has got in place. I recognise the importance of working alongside the staff, inviting their opinions and ideas and supporting their wellbeing. We value our parents, carers and the local community and feel that a strong, effective partnership with them is an essential ingredient for our school. We welcome visits to the school and would love to build up a community group, that meet regularly and support a shared vision to achieve the best child centred school experience possible. I joined Victoria Road as Head of School in January 2023, following over 20 years teaching and leading experience in Primary School education. As a Mum myself to a teenage daughter, I am very family orientated and understand how precious children are. I will always put your child's education and wellbeing first and continue to offer them a safe place to thrive and be nurtured at Victoria Road Primary School. My previous leadership role has included being the trained Senior Mental Health Lead which enabled me to successfully lead the Pastoral Team and support children who may experience barriers to their learning. I am currently studying for my NPQH (The National Professional Qualification for Headship) which is a DfE accredited qualification that will support my confidence in leading the strategic development of the school. From January 2023, we were also very privileged to have the guidance from Mrs Kathy Nichol, who is an Executive Head from "Aspire Educational Trust".
