Vector Psychometric Group, LLC (VPG) was founded in 2007 as a psychometric consulting company. During the company's graduate training the company discovered an enormous demand for psychometric methods, but relatively little communication between consumers of those methods and the great advances taking place in many academic settings. The company's... early consulting work on educational testing and patient reported outcomes led the company to expand VPG to offer IRT software (flexMIRT®) and an adaptive testing platform (Adaptest). The company prides ourselves on the company's ability to help the company's clients with practical applications of rigorous psychometric methods. The company's clients have access to cutting edge research in the science of measurement, but with a focus on choosing the best tool to solve the problem at hand. VPG was founded in 2007 by Michael C. Edwards and R.J. Wirth. Li Cai joined in 2010. All three serve as managing partners with Dr. Wirth running day-to-day operations. All three received their PhDs in Quantitative Psychology from the L. L. Thurstone Psychometric Laboratory in the Department of Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
