Vasalissa Chocolatier is the result of the experience, tradition and dedication of a long line of European chocolatiers who gave their lives to the passion of making chocolate. The founders and owners of Vasalissa Chocolatier are mother and daughter, Dadi and Federica Marinucci, who are the result of generations of the Vasalissa legacy. Dadis famil... y originated in Russia, but during the first World War, they emigrated to Romania. It is there that her father, Abrascha Benski, installed a chocolate and caramel factory. After a few years, Dadis parents decided to sell the factory in order to relocate to Argentina. When Abrascha arrived in Argentina, he discovered the Argentine peoples love for dulce de leche, candy made of condensed milk. He decided to create his own company distributing pieces of dulce de leche coated in a layer of chocolate, thus giving birth to Cabsha candies. Years later, and after the death of Abrascha, the factory was then sold. Chocolate was ever-present in the life of Dadi. She remembers the teachings of her father with much affection, leading her to develop a palate capable of differentiating the diverse qualities of cocoa. Once her daughter Federica was of age, and after experimenting countless chocolate recipes, the pair decide to use Abraschas values to create a chocolate of remarkable quality. Dadi studied fine arts and photography, while Federica studied scenography and photography. The duo took this acquired knowledge and built a chocolate company where quality and aesthetics were the main focus. Consequently, in 2006 the Vasalissa project began to unfold.
