About Valor Home

Valor Home is the largest and most comprehensive homeless veteran program in the State of Ohio. Family & Community Services began developing veteran specific programming in 2005. Since then, Valor Home has served hundreds of homeless veterans in their locations that span four counties in Northeastern Ohio: Lorain, Portage, Summit, and Trumbull. In each county, an advisory committee of local veterans and civilians has been established to oversee the development and operation of the programs. Valor Home programs are certified by the Council of Accreditation and include three Department of Veterans' Affairs Grant and Per Diem programs. Valor Home programs also include an award-nominated job training program for homeless and at risk veterans, supportive permanent housing for veterans, and a transitional housing program for female veterans.
