As an alternative to traditional polyurethane foam, we also offer Preserve ® - a naturally renewable soy-based foam which helps reduce dependence on increasingly scarce oil resources. Our new custom furniture is manufactured using springs made from 80% recycled steel, and all the wood we purchase is harvested from renewable forests. And, to make your project even more "green" (environmentally speaking, that is), we offer a selection of eco-friendly fabrics from which to choose. To cut down on waste and further resource use, old and worn furniture can be recycled with new upholstery. As reported by the EPA, discarded furniture and furnishings increased from 2.2 million tons a year in 1960 to 9.3 million tons a year in 2007. Many antique dealers would love to get their hands on the "bones" of much of the furniture that is unceremoniously thrown away - furniture that was crafted when things were built to last and not disposable.
