Valley Outreach Synagogue provides its members with the opportunity to come together to seek, explore and develop new forms of religious expression that fit the spirit, environment and challenge of American life. The spiritual, educational and social participation of our members and friends in services and other Jewish cultural activities is a key... part of our unique approach. Our program is designed to foster a better understanding of our Jewish life, history and heritage. We pride ourselves on being comprised of members who have had extensive and life-long Jewish study backgrounds, and, just as importantly, those who have never practiced their Jewish religion but have come to question, grow and experience a Jewish life in a community who encourages challenging questions. Through this means we attempt to awaken our social conscience. In each area, we focus on the impact of our activities in secular life. In keeping with our approach and interpretation of contemporary Jewish life, we choose not to adopt any standardized prayer book or service format but to create our own. The congregation welcomes people who don't feel comfortable in a traditional mainstream Jewish setting. Those who might fall into these categories include couples involved in interfaith marriages, singles, low or fixed income families, seniors, people who have been away from Judaism and wish to come back but are hesitant due to little knowledge or background in each area.
