Valkommen House

Valkommen House provides guest accommodations on a working century farm in central Iowa. Guests stay in the original house on the farm, built in 1903 originally inhabited by the owner's great grandparents. The accommodations feature period furniture and decor, much of it original to the house. The modern conveniences of electricity and running wate... r have been added to the house for the comfort of those staying. Guests who stay have the entire house for their use during their stay. There is a working kitchen in a nearby building with a full size refrigerator, cooktop, microwave, toaster and Keurig. The house has 3 double beds and a crib. A television is available upon request (no cable, however) and the entire 2 acre property is covered by a wireless network connected to fiber for those who come to work in a serene setting. Do not expect your cell phone to work here unless you have US Cellular or Verizon as a carrier. Also included (at no extra charge ) is a peaceful silence so quiet it's impossible to describe, a night sky with a billion bright stars unobstructed by light pollution, smog or human structure, and a view of nothing but corn and bean fields as far as the eye can see. You *will* leave here relaxed. You will not hear a single siren, wait in any line, nor will you get caught in traffic (we speak in miles instead of minutes around here because 1 mile of driving *always* equals one minute). If there is even an ounce of stress left in your body our hot tub and pool will most definitely work that out of you.
