Urban Solutions

Founded in 1992, Urban Solutions has revitalized local neighborhoods by helping 5,000 small businesses with business development, job creation, loan packaging, leasing, marketing, and environmental sustainability services throughout the Bay Area. They are best known for their work in organizing small businesses to revitalize San Francisco's Sixth S... treet area in the South of Market and Fillmore Street in the Western Addition. Among their clients are Pearl's Deluxe Burgers on the corner of Sixth and Market streets and 1300 on Fillmore restaurant near Yoshi's. Last year, the organization received the Outstanding Achievement Award as Small Business Advocate from the San Francisco Small Business Network. Also over the past year, Urban Solutions' work with leasing commercial and office spaces in the Central Market area has generated citywide attention and support from the San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development. In March, the organization's Enterprising Women! program will be featured at The San Francisco Foundation's "Women Changing the World" event. Major support for the organization is also provided by Wells Fargo, Comerica Bank, the Union Bank Foundation, Bank of America Foundation, Cathay Bank Foundation, and U.S. Bank.
