Union Service Industries, Inc. was organized as a Delaware corporation in 1925, under the name of Chattanooga Cotton Compress Company, for the purpose of acquiring cotton compressing and warehousing facilities. The following year, the name was changed to Union Compress and Warehouse Company (Union Compress). The present name, Union Service Industri... es, Inc. was adopted in 1969; however, the warehouse locations have continued to operate under the name Union Compress. Union Compress provides commercial warehousing services, primarily to the cotton industry, throughout the southern United States. It owns and operates facilities in West Memphis, Arkansas, Decatur, Alabama and Cordele, Georgia. The combined footage available at all facilities is in excess of 1.3 million square feet. Here at the West Memphis facility, within the company's 400,000 square feet of USDA licensed and bonded cotton warehousing, the company offers 175,000 square feet of secure public and commercial warehousing storage including food grade dry storage.
