Union Hospital

Wuhan Union Hospital was founded in 1866 and is now a major comprehensive hospital under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Health. Affiliated with Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the hospital comprises the First Clinical College of Tongji Medical College, Emergency Center of Hubei province, Telemedicine Center o... f Hubei province, Research Center of Medical Education after Graduation of Hubei province, etc. It has been conferred "First Class hospital" by Ministry of Health initially. Union Hospital has been awarded the "National Civilized Unit", the "One of Hundred Excellent Hospitals in China", and the "National Labor Award". At present, the hospital consists of 4 districts: the Main District, the Tumor Center, the West Branch and the International Hospital, with a total of 5,000 beds. In 2015, there were 4,713,000 outpatient visits, 186,000 admissions and more than 100,000 operations. The hospital has a complete array of academic programs and departments, including 45 clinical and paramedical departments, and 12 research institutes. Among them, 10 are National Key Disciplines (Cardioangiology, Hematology, Urinary Surgery, Anesthesiology, General Surgery, et al.).
