As you may have heard on WVIN Radio with original "Jumper" Dave Taylor Smith, the 2020 Tyrtle Beach Campaign to raise funds for youth services is being delayed until a later date. We are committed to having the campaign, and especially the Jump event, but need to wait until it is safe to do so.... We will announce the 2020 Jumper and the event date when we can. The Tyrtle Beach Youth Fund is an annual grass-roots fundraising campaign that is organized by the Steuben Youth Services Fund, WVIN/WABH Radio, Steuben County Youth Bureau, and Chemung Canal Trust Co. What started as an on air joke in 1992 has turned into a significant fundraising event, with nearly $740,000 raised in 28 years! One local "celebrity" jumps into frigid Lake Salubria, and all of the donated funds are distributed to youth programs in the local areaover 80 organizations in 2019! Tyrtle Beach provides funding to non-profit grass roots community youth groups that serve young people up to 18 years of age.
