About Turkish Airlines
Turkish Airlines, legally known as Türk Hava Yolları Anonim Ortaklığı, is the flag carrier of Turkey headquartered in Istanbul. Established on May 20, 1933 as Turkish State Airlines as a department of the Ministry of National Defense, the airline has grown into one of the world's largest carriers. As of June 2024, Turkish Airlines operates scheduled services to 352 destinations including cargo in Europe, Asia, Oceania, Africa, and the Americas, serving more destinations non-stop from a single airport than any other airline in the world and flying to 131 countries, more than any other airline. The airline's corporate headquarters are located on the grounds of Atatürk Airport in Yeşilköy, Bakırköy, Istanbul, while its main base is Istanbul Airport in Arnavutköy.
