These things often go to family members, or we help with disposal via an auction house business we have a relationship with. This can help defray costs also." They do a complete unpack at the other end, to the extent of making beds, setting up bathrooms, ensuring furniture is placed correctly and comfortably, food and cooking items are adequately placed and "the client is left sitting in their favourite chair with a hot cup of tea". "We also cover disability needs," Ms Lemin said. "Issues such as impaired sight and senses, impaired movement and so on, are critical as people age and we take that into consideration. Things like rugs can be a trip hazard, microwave placement is critical for older people as they often have less wrist strength, and office chairs with wheels can be a hazard. Safe living assessments are a crucial tool for older people and apart from conducting these routinely in a new home a client is relocating to, Ms Lemin also offers a service of de-cluttering and downsizing an existing home.
