TRPVB is an unique novel partnership programme between Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and Tamilnadu Veterinary and Animal Science University (TANUVAS) in the field of translational research for Veterinary Biologicals. The research team includes an amalgamated combination of academia / industry and regulatory experts who can leverage and assist c... lients in various stages of product development. It is housed in one of the leading Veterinary Universities in India which would provide the much needed academic ambience and act as a knowledge hub for information resources. The idea evolved through deliberations and discussions at a translational research workshop conducted at TANUVAS in January 2011, which had participation of Secretary DBT, academicians from various national and international institutions such as Virginia Tech University, USA and industrial stakeholders. There was a consensus among all the experts on the need for a platform that would converge the requirements of academia, industry and regulation for efficient productization of veterinary biologicals. A need for a knowledge hub in this area was also felt at this juncture which would facilitate to create a favorable eco system to lure investments in this virgin area of veterinary sciences.
