About Transportation Accessories
Transportation Accessories Company (TAC) was started in 1976 by Darrell Olinger after losing his job as a salesman for a school bus replacement parts company. Realizing the need for personalized service in the school bus parts industry, Darrell loaded his 1974 Honda Civic with parts and went out to find every school bus garage in the state of Ohio. The next several years were split between living in his car and shipping parts out of his garage. It was obvious that the two most important aspects of the business were building personal relationships and shipping parts quickly. We still feel that these two points are crucial to the success of our business. Today, TAC is one of the largest independent distributors of school bus replacement parts and maintains one of the largest inventories in the country.
