Transpacific Marine

Transpacific Marine Ltd was founded by Nancy and Ennals Ives in the 1950's after they travelled to Taiwan to have a 38' wooden sailboat built for themselves. The result was so successful that they ended up building boats for their sailing friends and hence the birth of Transpacific Marine Ltd. Initially the boats were built in their own Factory in... Taipei, Taiwan but when Taiwanese labor rates increased to those similar to US rates they moved their production to mainland China. Today the boats are built in a modern factory in Ningbo, China which is a large city across the Yangtze River Delta river from Shanghai. Soon after the company was founded, Ennals and Mary brought in a Taiwanese partner, Mary Chou, and for many years the three partners ran the company. For many years Mary served on the Board of Directors of the Taiwan Yacht Association. However in 2006 Ennals passed away and a few years later Nancy retired though Mary remains with the company in a consultative capacity. The knowledge and skill of the three partners has been passed on to the existing staff who are proud to part of Transpacific marine which is one of Taiwan's most respected, quality boat builders. Today the Eagle line of modern state- of-the-art trawler yachts are now being built by Transpac and the boats are sold in Asia, Australia, USA and Europe. The company offers a high degree of customization to each vessel with changes being drawn on computer by their in-house Italian Naval Architect. Much of the hardware that is fitted to Eagle Trawlers such as engines, electronics and kitchen equipment is sourced from the very best suppliers from around the world, particularly the USA and Europe. This ensures easy parts availability and international warranty on the boat's machinery and equipment.
