Trainorders.com operates across two servers which are co-located at a network facility in Southern California. In the event of a hardware or software failure on either of the two main servers, we can temporarily migrate operations onto our backup server. This machine is not maintained in an online ready state so if we need to call upon this resourc... e it may require longer than 12 hours to bring online and because it is not as powerful as our production servers, our services may be limited until repair of our regular equipment can be accomplished. During the early morning hours our system may be unavailable due to data backups. Most hardware and software upgrades occur during scheduled weekend time slots to minimize disruptions. Occasionally, upgrades that are beyond our expertise are performed on weekdays so a consultant will be available in the event of an unexpected action while the task is being performed. In most cases shutdowns occur in blocks of than less than 30 minutes in duration. Our systems backup their data once a day to our on- site hard disk storage system.
