Tracy Pawelski

Professionally, Tracy combines corporate communications experience with a background in politics and public policy. Her work has taken her from the halls of the U.S. Congress and the boardrooms of Corporate America to grocery store aisles around the world as she looked for compelling stories and hot button issues. As the former vice president of co... mmunications for a global retail grocer, Tracy oversaw strategies for public relations, crisis communications, and community engagement. She managed a charitable foundation committed to the fight against hunger and improving the quality of life for children. Before returning to her roots in Pennsylvania, Tracy worked on national issues in the Office of National Drug Control Policy and U.S. House of Representatives, Washington, D.C. Tracy is an adventure traveler, preferring destinations out of the mainstream and activities that make your heart thump. She has published travel articles on these adventures, including a story about the fear that she faced on the side of a mountain while skiing in British Columbia's back country. In addition to walking 500 miles on El Camino de Santiago, Tracy recently trekked the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal and the West Highland Way in Scotland. Tracy and her husband, Rick, teach skiing in the winter at a local mountain where Tracy's father was a founding ski patroller. Tracy and Rick live in Central Pennsylvania where they enjoy hiking on the nearby Appalachian Trail, riding a tandem bicycle, and date-night yoga. Their daughter, Juliet, teaches English in San Jose, Costa Rica, where she can put her fluent Spanish-speaking skills to good use. Son Danny lives and works in Colorado, where he can ski the trees as often as possible. Tracy speaks to groups about her pilgrimage on El Camino in addition to travel and trekking, getting inspired, leadership in action, and the challenges faced by professional women.
