Tracker Systems, Inc. is a privately-held Florida corporation started in 1986 by founders who saw a need for a results oriented communications company to serve businesses with all kinds of communications hardware and network services. The company were already building a successful cellular phone company (started in 1984), but customers were asking... for 2-way radios, office phone systems and fax machines from people they could trust, so to meet their needs the new company was started. Over the years, technologies have advanced and customer's needs have evolved. Eventually, as the company grew, the idea of providing Vehicle Location System services to the company's customers began to take shape. The company hired imaginative staff to design software and adapt hardware to receive GPS data, process it in the vehicle and, using the experience of 20+ years in the cellular business, transmit the GPS coordinates real-time via the national cellular networks to the company's servers for access by the company's customers. After about four years of experimentation, testing, and programming, the Tracker Systems network reached out nationally with the company's customers tracking their vehicles all over the US and into Canada and Mexico.
