Track Components is a family run business, owned and managed principally by Clive Purchase; previously of Purchase Engineering Ltd. Launched in 2001, the company aimed to use the very latest high investment machinery to allow low overheads, and in turn offer its customers an extremely competitive price and reliable service. In 2008, with production... running 24 hours, 7 days a week, plans were put into place to improve production capabilities. Track Components doubled its manufacturing facility to 18,000 sq ft and invested in 5 more CNC machines including a twin spindle, twin turret lathe with raw billet material, and finished components being managed by a multi axis robot, as well as a multi pallet FMS horizontal milling cell. With the target of maximum efficiency front of mind, Track Components embarked on an intensive investment program that saw the implantation of a purpose designed modular production management system, and 2 CNC component cleaning cells. With an increased demand from OEM and overseas customers. 2012 saw plans form for a Stage 3 expansion and dedicated department created devoted to milling cells. This started with the very first 5 axis Mazak intergrex i200-st mill turn lathe into the UK being installed into the Amersham site. Later additions to the department included 2 more multi pallet FMS horizontal milling cells. Track Components further expanded their capacity in 2013 to over 25,000 sq ft to cater for their growing range of machine cells and manufacturing resources.
