Tower Regeneration

Tower Regeneration Limited (Tower) is a joint venture partnership between Tower Colliery Ltd and Hargreaves Services Plc, who through successful planning consent for land remediation and reclamation, including surface coal extraction, and land restoration of the former Tower Colliery site, near Hirwaun. The land reclamation works include removal of... structures and residual contamination, re-profiling of colliery spoil tips, removal of coal workings and mine entries, provision of surface drainage, creation of a sloping landform to reproduce semi-natural habitats currently present on the site, and partially prepare ground for future development in accordance within emerging Council Policy. Tower Regeneration is located near the village of Hirwaun, in Glamorgan, South Wales. The colliery, established in 1864, has been linked in the past with nearby mines, none of which remain operational.
