About Toss
Alter the landscape of opportunities for those living in the rural South, by harnessing the power of creativity. Homegrown network of artists and students connected to the resources they need to reach their full potential. These practitioners are the next generation of creative entrepreneurs, revitalizing and sustaining our communities. TOSS began in 2015, with sisters Kirksey Lowther and Kathryn Ervin launching an after-school art studio in Morganton to bring affordable arts education to Burke County. TOSS soon began hosting art events, workshops, and public art initiatives. Seeing the support these programs fostered, the founding members, including Hannah Thrower, incorporated TOSS as a nonprofit in the summer of 2018.Explore more
