Three Willows Garden Centre

Three Willows Garden Centre has been operating for over 30 years under 3 generations of the Watts family. Three Willows trades under its parent company, Edgar Watts Limited, known primarily for its production of cricket bat willow clefts, which it still exports to India for bat production today. The garden centre itself began in the early 1980s as... a few pot plants for sale on the Edgar Watts Limited sawmill site on St. John's Road in Bungay, and has gradually grown into the thriving business it is today. When the cricket bat cleft production scaled down and moved to alternative premises in 1990, the Watts family retained the old sawmill site for the exclusive running of the ever-growing Three Willows Garden Centre. The old drying kilns were used as shop areas and other outbuildings became potting sheds and display areas. This unique setting for the garden centre made it well known and loved over the years for its rustic character and charm. By around 2006, however, the very old buildings were becoming unsafe for use, so the decision was made to relocate the garden centre to the Watts' willow and poplar growing site, just half a mile away on Flixton Road. Managing Director, Peter Watts, designed the new, purpose-built garden centre premises, and guided it through the development stages to completion in September 2009. This ambitious and lengthy project marked a new beginning for Three Willows and has seen the business expand and develop immensely.
