THOMAS Creative is quietly diversifying and making inroads into other markets by thinking outside the square. The original business Thomas Signs was established by Allan Thomas in 1955 but it began to evolve when his son David Thomas became involved from the late '70s. Thomas Creative's services are now as diverse as its range of clients in Wollong... ong and Sydney. "We do branding, graphic design, exhibition stands, stage set and signage," David Thomas said. Thomas Creative produces stage sets for the Ensemble Theatre, Hi 5, Wiggles and Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. The list of corporate clients is just as impressive and includes AMP, Optus and McDonald's. The firm has done plenty of rebranding for Illawarra companies such as Sassall, PCL Money and Finance Control and interior designs for Network Communications and Stauff Corporation. Graphic design is the most extensive part of a business that still does signage which, however, now extends into the entertainment world. "We have even put Where's Wally and Sponge Bob into the Sydney Aquarium," Mr Thomas said. Thomas Creative has made exhibition stands for British American Tobacco Company, Howard and Sons and Norwest, and television sets for the Sydney Olympic Games. "We are quite diverse but it is all what we call visual solutions," Mr Thomas said. He even performs production management roles for events such as the Arias and has structured the business in a way that allows general manager Jenny Simpson and the team to ensure every client's needs are met. The business strategy and marketing plan is simply to do the best for each client and win new business on reputation. "We have become a one-stop-shop for companies who want to raise their brand," he said." Recently, Thomas Creative was recognised at the Australian Sign and Graphics Awards. "There were 598 entrants from across Australia and we took out two awards," Mr Thomas said.
