Thomas Chirnside Primary School students thrive in a wonderfully rich learning community where excellence is evident in all that we do. Around 60 % of the students enrolled at the school come from outside the local neighbourhood. School Values are central to the life of our school and determine how all members of the school community conduct themse... lves with: Respect; Integrity; Friendliness; and Honesty. Students develop understanding and tolerance of others in a just and secure learning community that fosters respectful relationships. The 'Learning How to Learn; Learning How to Be' processes prepare students for future learning and work. We strive to provide a learning community where opportunities abound for all students to learn as well as to apply that learning locally and to connect it to communities across the nation and the globe. During 2008 we became a Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden School. Community kitchen and garden facilities are currently being developed. As part of the Australian Government Building the Education Revolution initiative, the school will have a new '21st Century Learning' building replacing portables. In 2010 Year 5 and 6 students will have the opportunity to access a 'net book program' that promotes 'learning anywhere and anytime'.Read More
