GAWDS is focused on how innovation and technology are revolutionizing the global landscape and how individuals interact between various causes and organizations; but also how those individuals now wield increased power through self-determination and independence. Our projects serve to illustrate the newly realized power of the individual on the gro... und over that of isolated groups in self-segmented channels. To change the world, we must focus on empowering grass-roots individuals and stop relying on the conventional establishment. This applies to everything from local food economies to protection of endangered species worldwide. What's with the funky name? I began GAWDS as a search for answers to some of the most haunting questions I've come across in my life in the contexts of animal protection, environmentalism and daily living. The obvious disconnect in western society between easy lifestyle and worldwide ecological degradation lead me to believe there was a better way to live - so I went looking for it. What you find among these pages are the fruits of my search to date. GAWDS is about animal welfare, of course, but also about our own welfare and how we can re-learn to live in harmony on this amazing planet. I choose to focus more on what we can all do to bring us together instead of what divides us and keeps us apart.
