About The White Room

The places we spend time in are fundamental to our wellbeing. When we make meaningful design choices creating these spaces the benefits are profound. This environment coupled with lifestyle factors was devastating to my health. What does The White Room do?

The places we spend time in are fundamental to our wellbeing. When we make meaningful design choices creating these spaces the benefits are profound. Its vital that our most important spaces and the way we spend our time looks after us.” Wellbeing is a complex, dynamic and deeply personal concept. That makes specialising in holistic, wellness-based... design a challenging decision. Yet, after years running my interior design firm under The White Room brand, Ive evolved my business to do exactly that. Im devoted to creating and designing to reflect my values, and to better reflect my own experience. Some years back I developed an autoimmune disease worsened by living in an old home with peeling paint, sub-floor mould and poor ventilation. This environment coupled with lifestyle factors was devastating to my health. This drove me on a long journey of study, research and experimentation in which I discovered how our living and working environments directly affect both our physical health and state of mind. My qualifications and experience as an interior designer are complemented by my Honours Degree in Psychology and my current Masters Studies in Public Health. Every space and business I create has wellbeing at its heart. Even the healthiest, most robust people need their most important spaces (home, work, school) to look after them and be safe, sustainable and restorative. Im equally passionate about crafting stylish spaces. Just because something is good for you shouldn't mean it has to compromise on aesthetics. I work with clients of all sizes and needs, from corporates and commercial enterprises looking for advice to those seeking a complete holistic wellbeing-based redesign. Im particularly interested in the greening of urban areas and creating wellness-centred businesses for people living and working in cities.Read More
