Founded in 1988, the Vacation Company is a short-term rental and property management firm. The company manages over 250 quality villas and custom homes located in the resort areas of Hilton Head Island - Palmetto Dunes, Forest Beach, and Sea Pines. The average rental rate for the company's 160 villas is $2500 per week and for the company's 90 homes... it is $6200 per week. The company's properties and short-term rentals on Hilton Head Island are all ocean-oriented or waterfront in Palmetto Dunes/Shelter Cove, Shipyard, North & South Forest Beach and Sea Pines. 2013 is the company's 25th year and 21st year under the present owners. The Vacation Company owners, Bob Hawkins and Beth Henzler, are long-time Hilton Head Island residents who head a staff of fifteen reservationists, property managers, IT specialists, as well as marketing personnel dedicated to revenue generation and property care. The company's office is located at 42 New Orleans Road in the midst of the main resort area of southern Hilton Head Island - within five miles of all of the company's rental properties. The company has a management team for each area of the company's island. It consists of outside managers trained in minor repairs, pool and AC inspections in addition to being on-site housekeeping monitors. There is also an inside office property manager for each team. The property managers communicate with each other and directly with homeowners using Blackberries and iphones.
