The SIAPS

USAID's Systems for Improved Access to Pharmaceuticals and Services (SIAPS) Program was designed to strengthen the management of essential medicines and health supplies so that more people can access the health care they need. Building on a rich history of USAID achievements, SIAPS takes a comprehensive approach to improving pharmaceutical systems:... the program not only enhances countries' capacity to procure and distribute high-quality medicines and health technologies, but also works with local partners to develop strong systems for health financing, human resources, governance, information, service delivery, and pharmacovigilance. By promoting local ownership of wide-ranging initiatives, stronger, more sustainable health systems overall are fostered. The SIAPS Program partners are not only committed to making pharmaceuticals and related health services more accessible, more affordable, and of higher quality, but also ensuring more effective pharmaceutical services. SIAPS is a five-year Cooperative Agreement serving over 20 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East, and Oceania.Read More
