The RiverWoods Group

The RiverWoods Company was founded in 1984 by a small group of Seacoast area residents interested in finding a new way to grow older. From their vision, after 10 years of work, The Woods campus was opened in Exeter, NH 1994, followed by another two campuses, The Ridge and The Boulders, that also opened in Exeter in the subsequent 20 years. The Boar... d of Trustees of RiverWoods began looking ahead again in 2009, to understand how best to keep fulfilling the company's founders vision for the future. After much work and discussion, they created a parent company, called The RiverWoods Group (TRWG) in 2012. The purpose of TRWG is to focus on future growth and continuing to fulfill the company's founders vision, so that The RiverWoods Company can focus on the three core CCRC campuses in Exeter, NH. As stated, TRWGs mission is to be the leader in creating superior communities and providing peace of mind for seniors in fulfillment of the RiverWoods vision, while ensuring the long-term stability of the core campuses. Creating the parent organization allows the organization to expand its reach, so more people benefit. In 2016, Birch Hill (CCRC) in Manchester, NH became the first affiliate of The RiverWoods Group outside of three campuses in Exeter, NH. The most recent TRWG community, RiverWoods Durham (CCRC), is scheduled to open in Durham, NH in late fall of 2019. The system structure allows for future affiliations.
