The company traces its origins to Danny's Repair Shop, founded in 1950 as Sower's Machinery Co., Inc. by J.C. Sowers and later operated as a small independent repair operation in Pembroke, Virginia. In 1997, Jim Higham partnered with two of the shop's longtime employees, Duke Lucas and Peter Clouse, to formally establish The Power Zone Inc., building on a foundation of customer relationships and technical expertise developed over decades.
