The Old Smiddy

Sadly we were visiting Killin for a family funeral and we could not have had a better home from home experience. We were looked after superbly by Lynn and Michael who attended to our every need! Warm burning fires, comfortable rooms, excellent food and highland hospitality! We cannot recommend this B&B and restaurant highly enough! Thank you Lynn &... Michael. I had no expectations on arrival as I wasn't sure where I was coming to stay as it was a surprise booking. Our experience at The Old Smiddy was a lovely comfortable and relaxing one. We arrived later than expected on our bicycles - narrowly missing last orders for our meal but Lynne welcomed us with open arms and told us to take our time getting ready - out of our cold damp cycling gear! I had never cycled so far in my life and was ready to drop but little did I know my husband and Lynne had organised for a bottle of fizz and a present to be delivered and set up in our room on arrival. The room was very cosy and comfortable, I just wish I could have stayed longer in bed!! Breakfast was as lovely as the meal the night before. Lynne and her staff were an absolute delight and we will definitely be back. The next two nights of our trip were not the same experience as the first. Thank you once again.Read More
