The Newlands Park

Newlands Park is owned by Cheltenham Rugby Club Ltd. The 19 acre venue was purchased in 2007 and the Management Committee took on the responsibility of ensuring that the sports facilities were available to all existing club members, to attract new Community rugby and football teams and to encourage schools in Cheltenham and the North Cotswolds to p... articipate in sports at grass roots level. Newlands Park is situated at Newlands Corner on the very busy A435 northerly approach to Cheltenham, is 500 metres from Cheltenham Racecourse and has a 400 meter frontage on the A435. It is fifteen minutes travelling from the M5 (Exit 9) The ground is presently marked out for three rugby pitches, one with match standard floodlights and three football pitches. In the summer we have an active program of touch rugby and rounders taking place. The Clubhouse is built on two floors, around the 1950s and was very tired looking when acquired. Over the past 2 years we have undertaken the mamouth challenge of upgrading and improving facilities throughout including interior fixtures and fittings, kitchen facilities and exterior work including a viewing gallery. The ground floor of the building consists of: Main lounge/function room and bar, skittles alley with two lanes, social area and bar, self contained office, meeting room (now known as Presidents Lounge), ideal for meetings of up to 20 people and has the ambience of a museum. Together with changing rooms and a shower block, which are receiving urgent upgrading and refurbishment to bring them inline with RFU standards. On the first floor there is a Fitness/Exercise Room, together with storage rooms, changing rooms and showers.
