The Namaste Project

The Namaste Project partners with schools, youth programs, and community organizations to bring meditation, mindfulness, and yoga to students and the adults that work with them. Our mission is to create a tranquil and mindful school one staff member and student at a time. We aim to lower behavioral referrals, suspension and expulsion rates, to incr... ease test scores and student learning via data based interventions and yoga philosophy. Our goal is simple: to provide high-quality, universal social-emotional learning to as many students, teachers, and families as possible. Developing skills to cope with stress and promote mindfulness is as critical to a childs education as reading, writing, mathematics, and science. Every child deserves a high-quality social-emotional education. Every teacher with a sincere, positive intention is capable of teaching mindfulness through meditation. Classroom teachers are the most effective source for teaching mindfulness. Mindfulness through meditation curriculums and trainings should be affordable and accessible to all. Success is achieved through effective partnerships between educators, students, and their families.
