The Moorings

The Moorings only became a public house in the 1980s. It started life as a coal wharf following the opening of the canal in 1794. The railway age of the late 1800s saw a rapid decline in boat haulage and the premises became a boat hire centre during the later part of the 19th century. In the 1980s the pub was known as The Boathouse Cafe, which was... later changed to The Riverside and subsequently changed to The Boathouse. We are massive fans of the Great British Pub and rightly so, it's a national institution and deserves treasuring. So whether you're looking for a few drinks in our bar, a delicious three-course meal in our restaurant or if you are relaxing by the river we have it all. We can cater to parties of all sizes in our restaurant and have an area which can be reserved for private parties.
