About The Legacy Center
The Legacy Center Community Development Corporations (TLC) inception dates back to 1996, when the Senior Pastor of Christ Tabernacle, Michael Durso, and church members began collaborating with community organizations to provide gifts for children whose parents were incarcerated and backpacks to local students whose parents were struggling financially. In 2010, after 13 years of continual service to an undeserved community, TLC became a separate 501(c)(3) (not-for-profit). Under the leadership of newly appointed CEO, Jordan Durso, TLC committed to serving its neighbors and surrounding community through acts of compassion, justice, community service and intentional leadership development. Jordan quickly began transitioning the outreach programs away from Christ Tabernacle and expanded TLCs service areas to include all of New York City.
