The ISA Group

The ISA Group was founded in 1978 by Dr. Royer F. Cook, who continues as the President of ISA and a Senior Research Scientist. During the past 25 years, ISA has specialized in the application of behavioral science research to issues of health and public safety, and has conducted scores of R&D projects for the major federal research agencies, leadin... g foundations and corporations. In the health arena, our work has focused especially on the development and testing of effective health promotion approaches, and on ways to prevent substance abuse in both adolescents and adults. Many of these projects have been testing innovative ways of integrating substance abuse prevention into workplace health promotion. Increasingly, we are combining sophisticated methods of behavior change with cutting-edge information technologies, using video, CD-ROM and Internet-based techniques to present information in ways that maximize the likelihood of effective and lasting improvements in health practices. Through our non-profit arm, the Institute for Social Analysis, we continue research on social policy and justice, exploring ways to improve the performance of the justice system and make it more responsive to the needs of citizens and communities.Read More
