The Hope Alliance

The Hope Alliance was established to confront poverty and inspire hope through an alliance for change. In order to meet the needs of the communities we serve, partnerships with local organizations and professionals are required to ensure our programs are beneficial to people in need. It's about justice, it's about compassion, and it's about change." -Noel Brewer Yeatts Recognizing the critical need, and driven by commitment to a shared mission, our volunteers establish lasting solutions with community partners to provide each community with unique solutions to alleviate poverty. We use a "hand up" not a "hand out" approach. As co-founder John Hanrahan says, "We are a diverse group of citizens partnering with communities in need to raise their quality of life through sustainable, locally-operated projects." Our community of global volunteers come together to fight poverty through four programs: Vision, Dental, Medical, and Basic Needs. We serve communities in Peru, Haiti, Guatemala, and Uganda. In 1999 we will expand to Ecuador. Throughout the world, communities exist where environmental instability, economic imbalances, political oppression or natural disaster has left people without essential basic needs. Clean water, shelter, and access to health resources need long-term solutions to creating lasting results.
