The Gate Theater

The Back Gate Group (BGG) is a new group within The Gate Theater Group and differs from our regular season (or Main Gate season). BGG will be producing a variety of shows throughout the year - guest artists like Christine Augello with her one-womaon show Denial is a Wonderful Thing scheduled for January 2018; workshop reviews like the recent Seven... Scenes on September 30; talent nights like the one you enjoyed on August 11, original and experimental pieces - the sort of theater art that doesn't quite "fit" our Main Gate offerings of full-length, fully staged productions. BGG's next production is Into the Light: Focus on the Actor showing on November 2-5, 2017, at KAD Studio Theater. 2017 is the Gate's 10th anniversary! We proudly announce the line-up for this season. With four new shows in the works including a reprise of one of our most successful productions (with the generous financial support of BABSEACLE and Lanna Lawyers), you can look forward to a blockbuster season. The 'Main Gate' season of popular, full-length, staged productions runs from November through March; however, The Gate Theater Group has added another group to extend its offerings for year-round quality entertainment in Chiang Mai, The Back Gate Group. Back Gate offers variety shows, new talent showcases, black-box and experimental theater, brings guest performers to Chiang Mai and sponsors stage acting workshops.
