About The Equalities Review

The Equalities Review has been established to carry out an investigation into the causes of persistent discrimination and inequality in British society. The Review, which is independent, is chaired by Trevor Phillips in a personal capacity. He is supported by a Review Panel comprising: Sir Robert Kerslake Carol Lake Dame Judith Mayhew Jonas Nick Pearce. In addition, there is a Review Team comprised of civil servants drawn from departments across government and based in the Cabinet Office. Parallel to the Equalities Review, the Department for Trade and Industry (DTI) has begun work on a review to assess how anti-discrimination legislation can be modernised to fit the needs of Britain in the 21st century.
