Hospitals, colleges, and educational facilities sought the expertise of TEG to develop comprehensive energy management plans as a way to lower operational costs. In the 1988s TEG applied the concept of energy management to the community model, helping local governments leverage energy efficiency to improve vitality and aid economic development. Thi... s process was so successful that our work gained recognition for leadership in the areas of energy efficiency and conservation. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources awarded TEG the Energy Leadership Award for our energy efficiency work with the city of Charles city in 1996. Again in 1998 TEG was awarded the Energy Leadership Award for our work with Webster City. That same year we earned the United States Department of Energy "Rebuild America Partnership of the Year Award". More recently, our client Des Moines Public Schools (DMPS) has been recognized for their exemplary energy management program. In 2011 the US Environmental Protection Agency's Top Overall Energy Performance award was given to DMPS. And each year since 2012 DMPS has been a recipient of the Energy Star Partner of the Year award. We've worked diligently the last two decades to expand our services and develop tools in order to translate our success with institutional clients to the utility, agriculture, and residential sectors.
