About The Dwelling Place
You're likely to run into The Five Amigos around the Valley as they travel to jobs and activities in the North Central WA area. In addition to caring for the Amigos' physical and emotional needs, the Dwelling Place supports adults with developmental disabilities in meaningful employment. What once was two ministries--The Dwelling Place and Leavenworth/Upper Valley Employment Services (LUVES)--has recently been merged into one. Ongoing job development, training, coaching and support for seven individuals in the Upper Valley are provided through contracts with Chelan-Douglas Developmental Disabilities. A strong cottage industry which partners with a local business in the manufacture of high quality jumpropes, is also part of the pre-vocational employment services offered.
