About The Door Shop
The Door Shop was founded in the mid 1980's by Jerry T. Rains, a Maysville, Kentucky native and a Bachelor of Science Industrial Technology and Business Administration graduate of Morehead State University. With a history of family owned business in hardware and contracting that dates back to the 1930's, Rains built The Door Shop on three principles: quality customer service, honest practices, and detail-oriented work. With humble beginnings in the residential market, The Door Shop took on their first commercial project, The Dental Office, in Maysville, KY. Working with industry experts, Rains expanded his knowledge and achieved his certification as an Architectural Hardware Consultant in 1987, an instrumental tool to extending the business into the medical, municipal, and government markets. Today Mr. Rains is still involved in the day-to-day operations of The Door Shop.
