The Book Nook

We are a family operated book store located in the historic West Main neighborhood of Buena Vista, Colorado, on the banks of the Arkansas River in the Central Colorado Rockies. Owners Owen and Kathy Lentz had former lives as an Air Force Officer and Accountant, respectively. Retirement is very rewarding as we meet folks from everywhere without havi... ng to travel! After opening the Book Nook in late 2008 with books garnered from three family libraries, we quickly discovered that many people still appreciate shopping surrounded by books other people have read and passed on. We specialize in Quality Used Books, quality educational and fun toys, games, art supplies, regional folk art and a growing collection of vintage items. We hand-pick each book on the shelves, greatly influenced by input from our customers. In addition, we order both new and used books for customers and research hard-to-find items. The Book Nook is housed in a warm, inviting 1930's cottage that features a kids' "hobbit hole" beneath the stairs. Our Peace Labyrinth in the backyard is modeled after the Chartres Cathedral labyrinth. We want to contribute to our community's and our visitors' love of reading and joy of learning one book at a time.
